Program Details

The online Associate of Applied Science in Fire Science program prepares fire service personnel to become officers and leaders and retrains and upgrades the knowledge and skills of those already working in the field.  The curriculum introduces, develops, and reinforces academic and occupational knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for jobs in this field.  Courses include general education coursework and courses that focus on the fire science field.  Courses may include:
  • Introduction to the Fire Service
  • Fire Administration Supervision and Leadership
  • Firefighting Strategy and Tactics
  • Fire Service Instructor
  • Hazardous Materials Operations

Requirements

  • Government-issued ID or driver's license for proof of lawful presence (alternatives available)
  • Official high school/equivalency and postsecondary education transcripts
  • Official entrance exam scores from a valid testing instrument (ACCUPLACER, COMPANION, COMPASS, ASSET, GED, ACT, PSAT or SAT)
