Program Details

With the option to pursue teaching, Western Oregon offers this online MA in Interpreting Studies.  As a 100% distance-learning program, you can attain your advanced degree and acquire the skills and knowledge to teach either spoken or signed languages.  The field of interpretation and translation is ever-growing as global societies and economies intertwine, so you can join an in-demand professional field with the skills and knowledge you gain in this degree.  Samples of classes include:

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree
  • Cumulative B average on most recent baccalaureate degree or acceptable GRE score or completion of a master’s degree

  • Evidence of interpreting certification and/or experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

  • Three recommendations
  • Pre-screening assessment

Requires an on campus two-week residency each summer of enrollment.
