Program Details

The online MA in Interpreting Studies degree program from Western Oregon University provides interpreters and interpreter educators who use English and another language, spoken or signed, advanced scholarship that focuses on theoretical, practical, and teaching applications. Graduates of the program are able to:

  • ​Exemplify reflective practice in interpreting and teaching through observation, application, analysis, and supervision
  • ​Contribute to a growing body of research on interpreting and interpreter education
  • ​Exhibit advanced competence in interpreting effectiveness and quality leadership

  • A baccalaureate degree
  • Cumulative B average on most recent baccalaureate degree or acceptable GRE score or completion of a master’s degree

  • Pre-screening assessment

Requires an on campus two-week residency each summer of enrollment.
