Program Details

Western Kentucky University offers a Master of Arts in Education with a special emphasis on Gifted Education and Talent Development. Students will enhance their existing knowledge of the learning environments and needs for gifted and talented students. Graduates prepare curriculum, engage students, and foster a greater excitement for these students.


  • Requires a face-to-face practicum over a two-week period
  • Requires from 30-37 credits for completion
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university or equivalent
  • WKU alumni of the teacher preparation programs must have a current, valid teaching certificate or Statement of Eligibility
  • Other graduates must have a 2.75 GPA for all previous undergraduate coursework and a 3.0 GPA for previous graduate coursework or qualifying GRE scores 
  • Must hold or be eligible to hold a teaching certificate
