Program Details

The Master of Science in Curriculum & Instruction is offered by Western Illinois University. This degree is for students to build upon their education in undergraduate studies, to learn more about being a practicing educator and instructor. There are three areas of emphasis, so students can personalize their education:

  • Early Childhood Education
  • Elementary/Middle School Curriculum
  • Literacy Education


  • Bachelor’s degree from an institution accredited by a U.S. Department of Education regional institutional accrediting agency
  • U.S. teaching certificate
  • Cumulative GPA of at least 2.75 for undergraduate work or a 3.0 or higher for the last two years of undergraduate coursework
