Washington State University offers an online technical writing degree, the Certificate in Professional Science & Technology Writing.  This technical writing degree allows students to bridge the gap between the work of scientists and how the public understands that work.  The curriculum teaches you how to explain the complexities of scientific advancements to national and global audiences.  This technical writing program is beneficial for those working in media relations, grant writing, risk assessment, or government communications. 

Graduates will have completed three required courses, Writing and Rhetorical Conventions, Technical and Professional Writing, and the Rhetoric of Science and Technology, as well as two electives from such fields as:
