Learn to address the unique needs of military personnel, veterans, and their loved ones with the Military Families and Culture specialization of this PhD in Human and Social Services. This program from Walden University prepares students for careers such as a social and community worker for Veterans Affairs or community veterans’ services, a human services program director, or a non-therapeutic counselor.
Classes explore challenges associated with military life. Students will learn about the emotional impact of PTSD and vicarious trauma, parent-child separations, frequent family relocations, and extensive deployments. This online Human Services degree program offers two tracks: Track I is designed for students with a master’s degree related to Human Services; Track II is a pathway for students with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in an unrelated field.
