Program Details
Learn how to help individuals in need access services in their community with the Community and Social Services concentration of Walden University’s PhD in Human Services. Graduates will be prepared for non-licensure positions within community social services organizations.
Students will learn how to identify the needs of individuals and families to determine appropriate care. Classwork examines the theoretical, ethical, social, political, and cultural factors influencing social services programs. This online Human Services degree program offers two tracks: Track I is designed for students with a master’s degree related to Human Services; Track II is a pathway for students with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in an unrelated field.
Classes available to students within this major include:
- Advanced social work theory and practice
- Social change in action – prevention, consultation, and advocacy
- Resource development
- Management and leadership development in human and social services
