Walden University offers an online PhD in Criminal Justice with a specialization in Homeland Security Policy and Coordination. Graduates will be able to navigate the intricacies of public policy to help safeguard the nation.

Students will study trends and issues in Homeland Security. Courses discuss how national security agencies work together to keep the public safe, as well as applications of the National Incident Management System (NIMS). Two tracks are available within this online Homeland Security degree program to fit the needs of students entering the program with a master’s degree in Criminal Justice or those coming from other areas of study. 

Specialization courses focus on:

  • Public policy implications of terrorism legislation and policies
  • Terrorism – A systematic approach for emergency management
  • Critical incident planning and leadership
