Walden University offers a Master of Science in Psychology with a Self-Designed concentration, an online master’s in psychology degree program. This is a broad and flexible program that allows the student to design their own program of study. You will be able to design a program that matches your professional goals and personal interests as you work toward a master’s degree in psychology that will allow you to help others in your community solve real-world problems. This is especially beneficial if your interests overlap one or more of the traditional concentrations offered or if none of the concentrations offer exactly what you are looking for in a program. The curriculum consists of any three 6000-level psychology courses chosen by the student with the help of an academic advisor. This online psychology degree can also be used as a pathway to a doctorate in psychology from Walden.
Students will still complete courses in the broader field of psychology. Courses teach the latest psychological research and theory, helping students solve critical, real-world problems affecting people and communities. Open to students of all undergraduate backgrounds, this program provides a solid foundation in basic scientific methods and psychological principles.
This is not a licensure program and does not prepare an individual to become a licensed psychology or counseling professional.
