Walden University offers an online human services degree, the Master of Science in Human Services, with a concentration in Disaster, Crisis & Intervention. This program focuses on theories and strategies to meet the needs of individuals, families, and communities in crisis. Courses examine common reactions following a disaster and the psychological and behavioral disorders individuals can develop as a result. Students gain an understanding of how different counseling practices are used to help individuals overcome disorders and learn how to analyze a crisis, both at a local and a regional level. You will be able to design a crisis plan to prepare for future emergencies.
