Program Details

Walden University offers an online human services degree, the Master of Science in Human Services with a concentration in Community & Social Services.  This program includes courses in the prevention, intervention, and promotion of well-being in various settings, including schools, communities, and organizations.  You will examine the theoretical, ethical, social, political, and cultural factors influencing social services programs as you learn to identify needs of individuals and families and help these clients navigate services in their communities.  The curriculum prepares students for non-licensure careers as community case workers, program coordinators or developers, or nonclinical social services workers in agencies.  

All students completing this online master’s in human services degree also learn about the broader field of human and social services.  You will build effectiveness and professional skills within a global context.  This program develops a holistic, interprofessional perspective that provides best practices for delivery systems, program planning, and evaluation methods.

The program is not designed to lead to professional licensure.
