Program Details
Walden University offers a Master of Science in Forensic Psychology online degree with a concentration in Victimology. This concentration focuses on how crime impacts the victim rather than focusing on offender behavior like the majority of forensic psychology. Coursework examines the relationships between victims and their perpetrators while you learn more about the experiences of victims and first responders who may suffer from vicarious traumatization from working closely with victims. Students also explore the various stress disorders and their treatments.
In addition to the victimology coursework, students explore the broader forensic psychology field. The curriculum includes biological, psychological and social factors that impact criminal behavior and helps students understand criminal behavior on a deeper level. You will be prepared to drive positive change in the criminal justice system.
