Program Details

Walden University offers an online forensic psychology degree with greater flexibility, the Master of Science in Forensic Psychology with a Self-Designed concentration.  This degree provides a broad understanding of the intersection between the fields of forensic psychology and criminal justice.  While courses cover criminal justice practice and theory similar to other concentrations in this master’s degree program, this Self-Designed concentration allows students to create unique learning programs.  By choosing specialization courses in this area you will build your knowledge of how forensic psychology professionals, criminal justice practitioners, and victim advocates work together.  Options for specialization courses include:
  • Psychology in the Courts
  • Police Psychology
  • Forensic Applications in Community Settings
  • Juvenile Justice, Delinquency, and Development
  • Psychological Aspects of Violent Crime
  • Sex Offender Behavior and Treatment
In addition to the Self-Designed concentration, students also complete courses in the broader field of forensic psychology, including those that provide the knowledge and skills to drive positive change within the criminal justice system.  Coursework also examines the biological, psychological, and social factors impacting criminal behavior.
