Program Details

Walden University offers the Master of Science in Forensic Psychology online degree with a concentration in Family Violence.  This area of forensic psychology studies criminal behavior that involves intimate partner violence, child abuse, maternal and paternal filicide, and elderly abuse.  You will examine the unique aspects of intrafamilial crimes and how they impact the individual’s role within the family.  Courses in this area include:

  • Juvenile Justice, Delinquency, and Development
  • Victimology
Students will also explore topics in general forensic psychology.  This includes the knowledge, skills, and expertise needed to promote positive change in the criminal justice system.  Courses look at the biological, psychological, and social factors impacting criminal behavior, allowing you to understand criminal behavior on a deeper level.
