Program Details

Walden offers a Master of Science in Instructional Design & Technology, an online instructional design program, for students interested in supporting technology-based training.  This program teaches students to analyze learning or training needs and design technology-supported instructional materials to develop cutting-edge curricula that reshapes the flow of information.  Students learn to apply theory, research, creativity, and problem-solving skills to various technology applications in order to help reshape the way information is created, integrated, and delivered.  Courses develop skills in assessing, creating, and managing training materials to support technology-based training in educational institutions and corporate training environments, including efficiently and effectively using technology and multimedia tools.  The curriculum emphasizes leadership, problem-solving skills, and hands-on design experience while offering core courses in instructional design, research, project management, and evaluation.  Graduates are prepared to develop instructional materials and experiences by applying principles, theories, and research related to print, audiovisual, computer-based, and integrated technologies and to demonstrate the ability to use common technology tools to create innovative learning solutions and materials.
