Program Details

The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) online degree from Walden University offers a concentration in Public Health Nursing.  This degree focuses on improving health outcomes for entire communities with the help of public health nurse leadership.  Public Health nurses try to improve access and care for people in their communities and beyond, helping with the disparities and inconsistencies found in the current healthcare system.  Courses in this MSN program prepare students to assume leadership positions in assessing communities and populations; identifying high-risk groups; and developing culturally sensitive, acceptable, and realistic population-based nursing interventions. 

The curriculum provides the knowledge and skills needed to work as a nurse leader in diverse settings, including:

  • The RN-BSN-MSN track is for registered nurses who hold a hospital diploma, associate degree in nursing, or bachelor’s degree (other than a Bachelor of Science in Nursing [BSN])
