Students enrolled in the online Master of Public Administration program have the option to simultaneously pursue a Certificate in City Management as a specialization within their degree. Ideal for professionals who currently lead or aspire to manage public, private or nonprofit organizations, the City Management specialization helps prepare students to succeed as a local government professional. Required courses include Effective City Management, Urban Politics and Government and Managing Public Networks.
Faculty are the same professors who teach on-campus, leading the same curriculum as the traditional classroom in a flexible format designed for working adults. Professionals with a City Management credential can be prepared for roles including city planning, urban management, criminal justice, policy analysis in a legislative capacity and other executive city and county roles.
