Program Details

Utah Valley University offers a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree online, for post-baccalaureate nursing students who are looking for advanced practice and knowledge to take to their institutions. The curriculum was designed to provide a theoretical foundation to nursing topics, but also clinical teaching and leadership strategies. The core requirements include classes on nursing informatics, teaching nursing, nursing research and theory, and more.


  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing from a program accredited by a recognized nursing accreditation agency
  • Current licensure as an RN in Utah or eligible for RN licensure in Utah
  • Completion of an undergraduate course in statistics to include descriptive and inferential statistics
  • Overall undergraduate GPA of 3.2 or higher, or GPA of 3.2 or higher in last 60 semester hours of undergraduate coursework
  • Three professional letters of recommendation
