Program Details

Upper Iowa University offers the online MPA with a concentration in Emergency Management & Homeland Security. This program is designed to equip public administrators (aspiring and seasoned) with the skills and knowledge needed to manage public policy in the political and legal environment. The curriculum, framed by the public values of democracy, diversity, and due process, focuses on leadership and management, meaningful participation in the policy process, engaging a diverse citizenry, and improving decision making.

This Emergency Management & Homeland Security emphasis is designed to prepare students for leadership positions in agencies and organizations with missions to protect life, liberty, and property. The curriculum includes the following courses to choose from:

  • Emergency Management: Mitigation, Recovery, and Continuity

  • Must have a baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by an agency that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation
