Program Details

The online Doctor of Nursing Practice builds on master’s-level nursing knowledge and skills to prepare students for the highest level of nursing practice. Courses examine topics in evidence-based practice, informatics, leadership, collaboration, and knowledge of systems and healthcare policy.

Graduates of this online nurse practitioner degree have the ability to promote culturally sensitive, holistic advanced nursing practice care in a global community. DNPs can focus their efforts on disease and illness prevention and health and wellness promotion, as well as health restoration and maintenance. Clinical experiences serve as a foundation for population-focused management, evidence-based practice, and healthcare policy.

  • On-campus visits are required for orientation and during the final two semesters of the program.
  • Applicants must have a master's degree from an accredited university, including graduate-level nursing theory, research, ethics, and advanced-level pharmacology.
  • Applicants must have a current, unencumbered RN license allowing practice in Wisconsin.
  • Provide evidence of 550 hours of advanced nursing clinical practice in a given specialty and current advanced nursing practice certification.
