Program Details

The University of Southern California provides a mostly online Doctor of Physical Therapy program that combines online curriculum with hands-on immersion practices. This program comprises six semesters and two summer sessions. Students participate in online discussions, virtual classrooms and meet about ten times on campus over the course of the degree program. Topics range from neurologic and musculoskeletal disorders to case-based instruction and clinical rotations.


  • Requires ten on-campus immersion experiences (60 days over a 3-year period)
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university by the date of projected enrollment
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Satisfactory GRE scores
  • Minimum of 150 hours of clinical experience in a physical therapy setting
  • Grades of “C” or better are required in all prerequisite courses
  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions you have attended
  • Three essays
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • U.S. citizens or permanent residents who currently and will continue to reside in the U.S. for the entirety of the program
