Program Details

The Education Specialist in Educational Administration and Leadership for PreK-12 Principal Specialization combines online classwork with a field-based internship.  This post-master's program, offered by the University of South Dakota, is based upon theory, research and experience.  The design of the program is intended for educators working full-time, as it offers schedule flexibility along with small class sizes.  Depending upon your specific state requirements for licensure, you may be qualified to sit the state license exam upon completion of this online EdS program from USD.

Requirements

This program requires an internship/field experience.

  • Master's degree
  • One official transcript verifying receipt of an undergraduate degree and official transcripts of all academic work at the undergraduate and graduate levels are required for all students

  • Must have 3 years of teaching experience in PK-12

The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) now administers both NCATE and TEAC accreditation. Current accreditation status under NCATE and TEAC for education programs will continue through the accreditation term, during which they will be CAEP Eligible.
