Program Details

There is always a need for nurses with advanced knowledge and skills, but that need is greater now than ever before.  The MSN in Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, an online nurse practitioner degree from the University of South Alabama, will help nurses to fulfill this need while focusing on meeting the primary health care and acute care needs of children and their families.  You will learn to assess, diagnose, and manage the health care needs of children, creating diagnostic and treatment plans.  Emphasis is placed on wellness and evidence-based practice, managing both inpatient and primary care needs.  Coursework looks at diagnostic reasoning, resource optimization, and the pathophysiology and epidemiology underlying acute and chronic health problems.  Graduates are ready to act as leaders in this field who will contribute to the advancement of nursing.
