Program Details

Nurses with a master’s degree can pursue the online Post-Graduate APRN Certificate in Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of North Alabama. The program is designed for nurses seeking a new specialty or subspecialty area of advanced practice nursing.

In addition to online coursework, students complete a minimum of 600 hours of clinical work and attend two on-campus intensive experiences. Courses in advanced health assessment, pharmacology, and pathophysiology can be completed as a part of the curriculum if not previously completed in a master’s program or completed more than five years ago. Graduates are eligible for national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
