Program Details

The Certificate in Computer Science Education allows educators to expand their skills and knowledge in teaching computational thinking, computer science, and information technology. Certified Nebraska teachers can earn an IT Supplemental Endorsement with the completion of this program. Applicants do not need a background in Computer Science to pursue the certification.

This STEM teaching certificate consists of six courses focused on topics including computer science for teachers, object-oriented programming for teachers, and foundations of cybersecurity. Educators learn special methods for teaching this content area. Electives include options such as introduction to software engineering, human-computer interaction, and user experience design.
