The Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing degree online prepares students to become nurse scientists. Graduates will be capable of performing original research using a variety of methodologies.
PhD in Nursing students learn how to help advance the discipline of nursing through research related to improving health outcomes for patients, families, and communities. Students in this program from the University of Missouri at Kansas City have access to nationally recognized and funded nurse scientists who are available to guide students through a mentor-match model. Prior to graduation, students will present at a professional conference, author a publication published in a peer-reviewed journal, complete a comprehensive examination, and propose and complete dissertation research.
