Master of Social Work / Advanced Standing
University of Missouri-Columbia

Program Details

Mizzou’s College of Human Environmental Sciences – School of Social Work offers two tracks for students to earn an online MSW.  Both tracks follow curriculum guidelines of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).  This particular path requires an undergraduate degree in social work from a CSWE-accredited program.  Mizzou refers to this accelerated curriculum as the Advanced Standing path. In this program, you’ll be challenged with advanced coursework and topics in social work, as you prepare to make a difference in your community and beyond.  While coursework is 100% online, you’ll complete a practicum, locally. This degree is offered to students in Missouri and nine contiguous states, so be sure to check with your state’s requirements prior to enrolling. Classes in the program usually include:

  • Evaluative Research in Clinical Social Work Practice
  • Fundamentals of Social Work Administration
  • Strategies of Clinical Social Work Intervention
