Program Details

The Certificate in Food Safety & Defense program is designed to complement a graduate degree or provide working professionals in the food industry the tools needed to advance their careers and protect the human food supply. The curriculum covers topics like food microbiology, foodborne toxicants, food laws, and rapid food microbiological methods. 

This program is offered through the Great Plains Interactive Distance Education Alliance (Great Plains IDEA); regionally accredited schools working in partnership to provide students with online opportunities. Students apply at their school of choice.
