Program Details

University of Massachusetts Global offers an Advanced Standing pathway for completion of their online master’s in Social Work. Students who qualify can finish the online MSW program in as little as one year.

Graduates will be prepared to become a licensed social worker or clinical psychotherapist and are qualified to apply for licensure in many states including California. Students can expect to work in fields such as child protective services, criminal justice, legal service, and military organizations. The university assists students with applying for and completing internships with local agencies in their area.

Advanced Standing coursework includes topics such as:

  • Advanced standing requires completion of a bachelor’s degree and core social work foundation courses.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 with combination of GRE, GMAT, CSET or MAT test scores are required. Test scores waived for applicants with a 3.0 or higher GPA and/or a master’s degree.
