Program Details

The online MBA with a concentration in Healthcare Informatics is designed for individuals interested in working within the healthcare industry in business positions.  Healthcare Informatics is a specialized, data-driven field that prepares and positions healthcare administration leaders to guide and direct the improvement of healthcare quality, safety, and efficiency.  The curriculum includes nursing science, computer science, and information analysis topics to help strengthen the quality of decisions made by patients and healthcare professionals.  You will learn to help others transition to a technologically advanced healthcare system, design information systems that optimize practitioner decision-making, and develop and troubleshoot tools for consumer healthcare.  Students also work to promote health literacy, design and develop tools and devices that bring health information to diverse populations, and engage in policy debates over the need for more advanced health information technology.  Graduates will integrate Benedictine values into their professions, have ethical frameworks, and maintain professional standards.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • GPA of 2.5 overall, or 2.75 during the last two years of the undergraduate degree, or 3.0 in a major field

    • A waiver is available for applicants who have three preparatory classes in Finance, Accounting, and Economics, or may qualify for a waiver if certain conditions are met
