Program Details

The online Associate of Science in Homeland Security program prepares students for careers in homeland security but is specifically designed to provide a foundation for entry into the Bachelor of Science in Homeland Security program by focusing on courses at the freshman and sophomore levels.  The curriculum consists of general education courses meant to form students’ educational foundations, and elective and core courses in Homeland Security that cover emergency management, terrorism and counterterrorism, emergency preparedness, emergency management technology, and more.  You will learn to evaluate elements of competing agencies, apply expertise in various international and domestic terrorist entities, understand the conflicts that foster the existence of terrorist groups, synthesize the roles of key players in Homeland Security, and be able to suggest new ideas for the field to assist in the smooth and orderly flow of intelligence information.
