Interprofessional Graduate Certificate in Gerontology

Program Details

UMaine offers the online Interprofessional Graduate Certificate in Gerontology. This program is designed to increase the knowledge, skills, and abilities of health and human service professionals who provide care to older adults in a variety of settings. Among many things, students will learn how to promote the health, functionality, and quality of life of older adults through education of individuals and families and through appropriate referrals to service providers. 

The following courses make up the program:

  • Opportunities and Challenges of Aging
  • Life Transitions and Health in Aging
  • Interprofessional Care of Older Adults in Diverse Settings

Requirements

  • Must have an undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited college of university with a recommended GPA of 3.0
