Program Details

The master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling is designed for working professionals who want to become professional rehabilitation or mental health counselors. Graduates will be qualified to work in mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment, employee assistance programs, and other settings.

Coursework examines ways to provide counseling to a wide range of individuals with disabilities. Students will learn how to design individualized intervention strategies for their clients. Graduates of this online master’s in counseling will understand regulatory issues and legal requirements such as the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Two tracks are available to students:

  • Rehabilitation Counseling is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP).
  • Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling in Mental Health leads to licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in most states.
