Program Details

The renowned Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication offers a low-residency online MFA in Narrative Media Writing at the University of Georgia. Network with noted authors, screenwriters, literary agents and others as you gain key fundamentals in narrative journalism and screenwriting. Faculty mentor you as you build a portfolio to take you from the classroom to the marketplace. 

Choose to concentrate your studies in Narrative Nonfiction or Screenwriting. The MFA also prepares professionals to teach writing in higher education.

Each semester begins with a short residency in which students attend workshops and seminars, and collaborate with faculty and peers. This is followed by the flexibility and solitude to write from your home.
