School Details

Founded in 1871, the University of Central Missouri, located in Warrensburg, Missouri, is a four-year, public university originally known as State Normal School District, #2. It later became Warrensburg Teachers College and went through several other name changes before becoming the University of Central Missouri in 1996. UCM focuses on "preparing its students to succeed in a world that is quickly changing. UCM’s academics, opportunities for leadership and programs provide students with the skills, experience and knowledge that will help them succeed in life."

UCM offers programs for bachelor's and master's degrees, as well as undergraduate and graduate level certificates from the following colleges:

  • College of Health, Science and Technology
  • Honors College

Select online bachelor's and master's degrees are available through UCM Online. Online instructors are the same as classroom instructors.

Requirements

  • Have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.5
  • Proof of teacher certification or professional endorsement from any of the 50 states or territories and have graduated from an NCATE or regionally accredited university
  • Copy of last summative teaching evaluation (i.e., a PBTE or similar evaluation form), or a letter from a school superintendent, principal or professor attesting to teaching skills and/or graduate studies potential
