Program Details

The Medical Coding and Billing associate’s degree provides students with the skills needed to enter the medical coding and billing profession. After graduation, the student may take the American Health Information Management Association’s Certified Coding Associate exam, a medical coding and billing industry certification.

Coursework ensures that students become skilled in coding as well as the management of patient data and ensuring confidentiality. Students will learn about the guidelines of the Health Insurance and Portability and Accountability (HIPAA). Graduates will be well prepared for entry-level positions in settings including hospitals, doctor’s offices, and long-term care facilities.
