Program Details

Sonographers can take advantage of greater opportunities for advancement with a bachelor’s degree. The Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography teaches students the technical as well as soft skills required for roles in sonography.

Courses cover areas  including gynecologic, abdominal, cardiac, and vascular sonography. Concentrations are available in Vascular Sonography or Adult Echocardiography. Students will also practice basic patient care techniques, learn about sonographic applications in obstetrics, and participate in conference and practicum experiences. Classes also serve to familiarize students with health care systems in America and current issues in healthcare.

Graduates will be eligible to sit for the following industry certification examinations from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS):

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
