Program Details
Certified teachers have the opportunity to continue their education earning a Master of Education through Thomas University. A Master of Education allows inpiduals to hone-in on their critical thinking and decision-making skills. Offered are five Master of Education degrees including: Early Childhood Educations, Middle Grades Mathematics, Middle Grades Language Arts, Secondary English, and Secondary Mathematics. In order for teachers to become the best leaders, they will need to able to enforce change and facilitate learning in students.
There are four areas in which coursework will take place: Research, Technology, Teacher Leaders and Mentors, and Professional Concentration.
During the course of the program, teachers will be taught how to model strong character and implement appropriate learning strategies, addressing different learning styles. Graduates of the program will be able to perform assessments of students, also providing advise for improvement for those students.
Through the use of digital media, teachers now are able to better support inpidual learning, teaching students to work collaboratively. Teachers should be able to display their knowledge in a professional context through the use of digital technology and resources.
By completing this Master’s course program, inpiduals increase their knowledge in their field of study, develop course curriculum that meet the needs of all students, and employ problem-solving skills to needed situations.
To qualify for admission into this program, those applying will need to obtain a teaching certificate.
