Program Details

With an associate degree in Polysomnography, you will gain the skills you need to administer sleep studies to diagnose and treat sleep disorders. Students will learn how to record brain waves, blood oxygen levels, heart rate and breathing, and eye and leg movements during sleep.

The curriculum combines general liberal arts education with coursework concentrated on the sciences. Requirements include classes such as Sleep Disorders, Medical Terminology, Polysomnography Scoring, and Instrumentation Theory. Students are expected to complete clinical requirements in their local community unless they already have a Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist license.

  • Students who do not live near clinical partnership locations must arrange accredited PSG clinical experience at a site them. If an approved clinical site cannot be located students cannot complete the program. Candidates who are already RPSGT board certified may exempt clinicals.
