The University of Alabama offers the online MS in Human Nutrition. This program designed to prepare nutrition professionals to practice dietetics at an advanced level and/or to pursue doctoral study. The program develops research skills, stimulates independent thought and provides up-to-date knowledge in food and nutrition.
Students may customize their education by choosing one of three tracks:
An undergraduate GPA of 3.0 overall or a 3.0 for the last 60 semester hours of undergraduate coursework or a 3.0 GPA for a completed master's degree from an accredited institution
Acceptable GRE, GMAT, or MAT exam score
While being a registered dietitian is not a requirement for entering the master's program, students should be aware of the laws governing the practice of dietetics in their respective states. This master's degree does not provide eligibility to sit for the registration examination to become a registered dietitian, nor does it provide eligibility to apply for dietetic internships.
