Program Details

The online Bachelor of Arts in Education Studies program is designed to prepare educators for teaching kindergarten through 6th grade in public or private schools.  However, this degree does not lead to state licensure.  The curriculum features a Biblical foundation and foundational courses in General Education.  Courses for this degree include:

  • Teaching Diverse Populations
  • Theoretical Underpinnings of ESOL
  • Foundations of Reading: Early and Emergent Literacy
  • Disciplinary Literacy
  • Diagnosis and Remediation in Elementary Reading

Requirements

Education programs first require completion of 50 hours of coursework, including General Education Foundation and Biblical/Theological Foundation requirements; with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better. BCF offers online associate programs in which students can gain entry credits. 

School application requires:

  • Active participation in a local Christian church for at least one year
  • Affirmation of faith and service form
  • Recommended by a local Christian church
  • Personal recommendation
  • Commitment to high moral character
  • Proof of immunizations for measles and rubella
  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • Official transcripts from any and all institutions of higher education attended
  • SAT or ACT test scores (waived for transfer students with 24 or more semester hours)
  • Home-school students may have added requirements
