Program Details

SUNY provides an in-depth knowledge of research-based practices and literacy theories with its MS in Education in Literacy. This online reading and literacy program imparts graduates with expertise in leadership skills, curriculum development, and inclusive teaching and intervention.

With ample opportunities for assessments and interventions, students learn to administer literacy assessment tools and interpret abilities. Other important skills emphasized in the online reading and literacy curriculum include collaboration and communication.

Students hone their skills through school-based fieldwork. This can be through a supervised internship or a practicum to gain hands-on experience. Skills learned include:
