Southern Illinois University Edwardsville offers an online Master of Science in Nurse Educator. Students train to fill the ever-increasing need for skilled nursing faculty. 

The program includes three in-person practicum experiences, individualized for the student’s professional experience, interest, and academic needs. After completion of the master’s in nursing education program and two years of teaching experience, graduates are eligible to take the National League for Nursing Certified Nurse Educator exam.

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited program
  • Submit evidence of completion of an undergraduate statistics course with grade C or better
  • Must hold a current, unencumbered RN license in the state where practicum experience will be completed
  • Complete minimum of 1,872 hours of professional nursing practice experience prior to enrolling in the first specialization clinical course
