Program Details
The MS in Medical Dosimetry from SIUC provides a quality program integrating research, education, and service. Students gain the knowledge and expertise needed to excel when delivering radiation treatments to patients with cancer.
The program offers two education tracks. Track 1 prepares students for a career in Medical Dosimetry. Track 2 offers practicing Certified Medical Dosimetrists graduate work.
This online radiation program covers topics such as:
- Radiation physics and protection
- Dose calculations
- Medical imaging and anatomy
- Clinical radiation oncology
Clinical rotations provide hands-on learning. Options include brachytherapy treatment, external beam treatment planning, preparation and planning, gamma knife, and stereotactic treatment planning. Students also participate in conferences, journal article reviews, and special project assignments.
