RN to Master of Science in Nursing / Family Nurse Practitioner (RN-MSN)
The online RN to Master of Science in Nursing program combines bachelor’s and master’s coursework to expedite the educational goals of an RN who desires to earn a graduate degree, yet needs the flexibility of an online program. The Family Nurse Practitioner specialization gives nurses the added expertise to work directly with patients and families, improving and promoting healthy behaviors.
Core curriculum builds on coursework in ethics, financial management, nursing practices, leadership, and societal health practices; while the Family Nurse Practitioner features courses in pharmacology and assessing health, in addition to practicums directly related to primary care, women’s health, and gerontology. Students also must complete a graduate project. Students demonstrating academic excellence are able to substitute certain graduate coursework for undergraduate courses.
