Program Details

The online BA in Theology degree program from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College is built on the understanding of theology as "faith seeking understanding" and is designed to equip students with the knowledge to pursue that process.  Courses allow students to deepen their understanding of their faith, examine it critically, and learn the language and ways of thinking necessary to articulate it in a clear, coherent, and meaningful manner.  This is an integrative discipline, drawing from other disciplines to construct its methodology.  You will study philosophy, psychology, sociology, cultural anthropology, history, art, music, literature, and the natural sciences.  For those lay people who want greater involvement in the ministries of their churches, this program prepares them to serve by providing a strong theological foundation.  For those with a calling to serve or minister in their churches, this program prepares them for graduate study in theology or seminary studies.
