Program Details

The online Bachelor of Science in Christian Ministry from Rochester University prepares students for ministerial leadership.  The curriculum consists of courses in a variety of areas including biblical studies, theology, Christian history, ministry, and spirituality which provide a broad educational experience.  This program is designed to help students understand and engage in the challenges of ministry life and discern their calling with special attention given to leading congregations.  Students will learn to lead communities with the understanding and use of Scripture, believe in a God-centered ministry, and look at congregations to gain an understanding from a variety of perspectives, including theological, sociological, and anthropological.  Graduates will understand the broad themes of Christianity and their importance for contemporary faith communities, assess congregations’ decisions, develop new ministry understandings based on their own experiences, and build ministry practices around the conviction that God is living and active in the world.
