Certificate in Healthcare Documentation Specialist

Program Details

RCC offers the online Certificate in Healthcare Documentation Specialist. The curriculum is designed to build a strong foundation within the field of healthcare documentation. Program students will gain medical transcription experience and strengthen various skills within the medical courses.

  • Introduction to Healthcare Documentation
  • Medical Terminology
  • Fundamentals of Anatomy and Physiology
  • Healthcare Documentation I
  • Interpreting Healthcare Records
  • Pathophysiology

The curriculum will cover subjects such as guidelines for healthcare documentation, medical terms, principles of anatomy, physiology, and the therapeutic use of drugs. Instructors will give students experience in beginning, intermediate, and advanced transcription of medical reports that are dictated by physicians. Students will also gain experience in consultation reports, operative reports, and electronic health records.
