With the help of Penn Foster, students can earn an Appliance Repair Diploma from home. Students will gain hands-on experience without the need for a classroom. Participants in the program work with electrical appliance tools and testers, and receive training in electric heating, water heaters, washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, and garbage disposals. By completing an Appliance Repair Certificate, students are well suited to pursue a career in a repair shop or appliance dealer. This program can also be used as a foundational course to start a business.
Consisting of six instruction sets, this step-by-step program demonstrates how to work with line cords, cooking appliances, split-phase motors, testing mechanical refrigeration parts, and repairing trash compactors. The Appliance Repair Diploma also educates on the fundamentals of microwave operations and repair. In addition, students discover how to service air conditioners and heating systems.
Admission into the diploma program requires an online application, which can be filled out on the Penn Foster Career School website. When enrollment papers are processed, students will receive the materials and may begin the program at their leisure.
