Program Overview

Northwest Christian University offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration for students interested in preparing for careers in management and interested in preparing for future studies in business. Students in the program will study the general concepts in business operations and business management, along with the necessary understanding of accounting, finance, marketing, economics and other fields. The program is intended to introduce students to business administration topics to form the basis for entry-level responsibilities in business.

As part of the program, students will potentially increase their understanding of profit-seeking activity in business and the functional parts and responsibilities in business operations. The curriculum consists of courses which include principles of management and leadership, legal and ethical issues in business and management, and global business management.

Students who complete this degree should have the potential for careers in business by demonstrating basic principles used in business and organizations, understanding basic economic principles, how to analyze economic events which are used to record accounting transactions as a part of financial statements, understanding of marketing concepts and the application of marketing concepts by profit-seeking firms, and understanding of U.S. monetary and fiscal policies and how it is used to stabilize or stimulate the U.S. economy.

In addition, students should be able to utilize computer and electronic technology in professional capacities, the ability to read, create, and understand graphical information, and to demonstrate knowledge of the basic management principles that are a part of administrating and running a business operation.
